Adjusting back

I went through my mailbox at the office in Lafayette. There were forms that needed to be filled out and returned from last September. I held them in my hand, debating if it was still applicable and necessary to sign and return as requested.

It's all part of a new process for us. Returning short-term to the US. Everything is old, yet new at the same time. One great big paradox; being short-term missionaries in your home country.

I've had to change passwords and obtain access to work at the hospital. I recognize faces in the hallways, but names aren't always returning with that recognition. The DaVinci robot... was like riding a bike, but I may have skinned a knee in the process. There's been change in the clinic office, new faces to meet and greet. The car almost worked, but needed a battery jump and change in the end. The house in Brookston; is just the shell of the home it was before. Who are we when we are here now?

It's not actually as dramatic as that sounds. But still, I wasn't expecting this new perspective. All part of that transition process I suppose. Travels this past weekend, were smooth and peaceful for which we are thankful. We also enjoyed Sunday being able to gather in church, sing in 4-part harmony, and recover/prepare for Monday. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the MidWest area on this particular quick work trip.

Much Love.

“Who are we when we are here now?”

That’s a question we find ourselves asking throughout life.
