Trying on scrubs

Since moving to Honduras, Jake has occasionally asked about the possibility of watching a surgery. I have always responded in the affirmative. Yet, I suppose it's like one of those things where... when it's always available, it's never seen as a priority.

He finally asked for a set of scrubs and made it into the OR the day before leaving for our current US work trip. But, it wasn't a surgery that drew him in, it was the anesthesia. There is currently a Pediatric Surgery team visiting complete with Pete. Pete is a CRNA and absolutely loves providing anesthesia care to our patients. He was so excited to investigate using the ventilators with the new medical air provided by the compressor that Jake had installed step by step over the past year. (see here for one of the first steps of the installation).

I snapped a picture through the OR door whilst Jake was getting his crash course on how the medical air passes through the ventilator to the patient. But by the time surgery was ready to start, he had needed to move on. Maybe next time, he'll get to see the surgery.

Much Love.
