We had considered going somewhere for the weekend. A General Surgeon from the US (Dr. Mark) is visiting for 10 days, and could technically cover my absence for an anniversary getaway. However, we returned the borrowed truck this past Thursday, and this whole not having a vehicle for long distance pushed us to drop that idea without actually admitting it out loud to ourselves. So we are at home for the forseeable future. I've mentioned it before, but want to reiterate we are very thankful to have our moto as it allows us to make trips to a pulperia for necessities and gets us up and down the mountain to the hospital. Jake also has the little pit bike up and running again as well.

Even though I am still here, Dr. Mark has been freeing me up to take care of some admin and life issues that have been pending. We are very thankful for this as well. On Thursday, I was able to join Jake in La Ceiba for a visit to immigration. We were finally granted our "resolutions" concerning our Honduran residency which basically is an official document stating we are granted five year residency status and then explains/argues the reasons in support of that. With that resolution, we had to present to Immigration to now start our application for our ID cards. Of course, the system was down on Thursday, so pending to see how this process actually goes. In addition, while I've been at the house today tackling some deep cleaning (the battle of the mold continues), Dr. Mark has been at the hospital taking care of some horrible and infected wounds needing emergent debridement and/or amputation. I am very much appreciating having the help!

Update on the presidential election: The official result has still not been released! Thankfully there has been peace in the country and life has continued as normal thus far. To be seen what happens when the winner is actually announced.

I am thankful that Jake can find humor in the content that ends up on my phone. Everything from lumps/bumps to x-rays to body parts and this week it was a lot of dead toes. The Honduran docs sit in wa
