Walking into the hospital this morning felt different. There was a stride. Not my stride per se, as I have no idea what my stride in this environment is going to look like. But, there was a stride, a flow, and I was very thankful. The steep learning curve that I was expecting had looked more like a vertical climb last week, and there was no time to study for holds, I just had to randomly grab and hold on. I am therefore thankful that some time adjusting was anticipated and I was not required to cover at the hospital this past weekend. I was finally able to go for a few runs, and spend some time studying. Essentially some time to read and process in my own way. I do believe this contributed to that "stride."
I had another young lady with a molar pregnancy requiring D&C today. Stayed upright the whole time. Ha. Here we go!
Also wanted to share my first orthopedic surgery, completed last week.
Left femur fracture that is 3 years old.
I'm no orthopedic surgeon, but I don't think this guy minds. He may finally be able to bear weight on his leg again. And then who knows... walk eventually, return to work, be a contributing member of society once again. One patient at a time.
Much Love.
Greetings Christy! I just caught up on your story! When I saw that broken bone on the X-ray but still reading your story in order, I got very concerned that you had passed out and had a very major break! I was relieved that you had no broken femurs and then were adjusting and "finding your stride". Our prayers are with you! I've said it before, and I'll say it again...your courage and tenacity is so inspirational! God be with you. We love you! I love reading about your adventures and you day to day life there!
So fascinating! Thankful to “share” this journey with you. Gods continued strength and blessings as you settle in💜
I’m glad you’re finding your stride…however that looks! Well done on that femur fracture! Do you have a Carm? Im sure that gentleman was especially thankful you answered the call God put on your heart many years ago! Praying for you and thankful we get these glimpses into your life of service! ❤️🙏🏻
That’s it! Just keep striding, one foot in front of the other. Eat right, sleep well, let God take care of the rest! Blessings and much love to you!
