Bulldozing through Spanish

As I have slowly moved along on this journey of learning Spanish, I have asked others what methods they used to learn and become fluent. I think I'm secretly hopeful someone will tell me of a silver bullet method they used and hey presto, they were speaking Spanish in a week. Instead, I feel like I can best summarize the responses from everyone as simply "everything." Do and throw everything you can into learning. Which I guess is just another way of saying practice.
A while back I was asked if I wanted to spend part of the day with, Marlon, a local Honduran with a lot of projects going on. I was asked if I wanted to spend a day with him traveling around the area to practice my Spanish and meet some people. It all sounded good to me so in the morning I hopped in his truck and away we went. Most of the morning was spent moving things from one place to another with good basic slow conversation back and fourth. Around late morning though a call came in that the bulldozer wouldn't start and could we come take a look at it? The next two hours kind of escalated into an intense teaching session with a side of attempted bulldozer repair.

We unfortunately were unable to get the bulldozer started. I called a friend back in the states asking for advice but with limited tools and parts we weren't successful. However I did feel like it was some of the best Spanish practice I have had so far. So I guess sometimes when you need to throw everything into learning something. Everything, just might include a bulldozer.
Keep after it!
