Another week spent in beautiful Denver, Colorado. Jake and I participated in on-boarding and orientation at WorldVenture headquarters in Englewood, CO from March 10-14.

On Tuesday they had a Ceremony of Appointment for which the entire office attended. There were no speeches. There were no awards, or well done's, or pats on the back. But there was prayer. As part of the WorldVenture community, we are sent and supported as family. They prayed for our upcoming transitions, our upcoming decisions and for God's nearness with each step we take. They prayed that we may have the discernment necessary to traverse the path ahead of us, even to recognition of closed doors and open windows. Our lives, our futures and time itself be in the hands of Jesus.
There was, however, cake at the end of the ceremony! (Must have cake! ;)

Since returning home we have started tackling our long To-Do list which includes medical clearances, finalizing budgets, social media updates, and preparations for visa and licensing applications. In addition, we have started in on training courses (stewardship, discipleship, evangelism, and theology) that will keep us occupied and learning for months to come.
I have been working at the hospital throughout this time. Jake has transitioned to full-time preparation for our eventual move to the mission field in Honduras. His time this past month has been largely spent putting the engine back in the '37 Ford that has still yet to start up, but he's almost there!
He has two weeks left to get the '37 chugging down the streets of Brookston! Will he make it? Tune in next time to find out!
We are now entering the season of partner development and ultimately working towards being 100% funded so that we can move to Honduras with a long-term plan and focus, stewarding our skills for the glory of God. In the meantime, we are going to be in Honduras for the months of April and May. I will be working at the hospital, and Jake will start Spanish lessons with a local language helper while also jumping into his responsibilities as facilities and operations management. This will also allow us the time to iron out logistics of our long term move, including where we will be living, a vehicle for us to use, etc etc. We are also looking forward to renewing relationships with those in Honduras and meeting all the new families that God has led to Hospital Loma de Luz since our last visit a year ago.
Until next time, much love.
Wings and anchors, may you use each when appropriate. God bless and protect both of you.
Continued prayers in all that’s ahead! It’s so exciting to watch God at work in your lives!
