Working on a Saturday

It’s a Saturday and Christy is currently in the OR for an emergency surgery. It’s funny how in some ways things are different than home, and in others, they’re exactly the same. I think it's time I give a quick primer on what I (Jake) have been up to and what I have ahead of me.

This is the incinerator building for the hospital/campus housing. It has two incinerators in it. One for trash and the other for medical waste. The medical waste unit being a propane fired unit. Both incinerators are tired, and the building is in need of some work.

My main priorities these two months are swapping out the medical waste incinerator for a new one that is currently on the premises. As well as, redesigning the trash incinerators connection to the chimney. The limited ceiling height means I don’t have a whole lot of room to work with and I'd like to about double the size of the current chimney pipe to better match the draft capacity to the incinerator size (napkin math calculation).

For now, until Christy returns I'm going to try and just model the building and its components in CAD so I can do all my trial and error on the computer before launching into the real project.

Keep after it.
