There are many different ways to measure our drive from Brookston, IN, USA to Balfate, Colon, Honduras.

But I think this is the best.

1 welcome home

I had been sitting and contemplating which story to tell, or perhaps which lesson learned I should expound upon from our drive to Honduras. I tried clicking through the pictures for inspiration, but each story was just as dramatic as the next, and each lesson as comical as the other. How do you summarize an adventure into just one? Then I got to the last picture on my camera roll. The little neighbor girl, Indiana, had stopped by earlier this afternoon with her card and a plate of cookies. I had snapped the picture to send to her mom, letting her know that her card was the first addition to our fridge.

It will take us a while to feel settled. The house is currently empty and... rather dusty. We can tell maintenance has been hard at work these past few months. So amidst this new and busy cloud of tasks that surrounds us, it felt good to stick Indiana's card to the fridge. It was a very small action, so normal even. But an action that was an almost subconscious response to knowing we were home.

God stayed before us and with us over all the bridges and mountains and borders. Our interactions with others along the way were all smooth and friendly. We enjoyed the time we had, and would even do it again!
