Actions of Thanks

Although Honduras does not celebrate Thanksgiving, they do recognize that the day is special for us. Thanksgiving translates as el Día de Acción de Gracias; or literally Actions of Thanks Day! How are you demonstrating your thanks? What actions of Thanks shall we perform today? and everyday?
This blog post is not going to be typical, as there are a few updates we felt simply couldn't wait a mere three more days for the November Newsletter.
1) The Exploder. After sitting in La Ceiba for two weeks, with a mechanic daily saying they would tow it to their shop "tomorrow", we are going to be taking a different approach. Tomorrow Jake plans to borrow a truck, drive to La Ceiba, and somehow find a way to tow the Exploder back home again. There are a few options on how this could potentially happen. Jake plans to ask at our Thanksgiving gathering this afternoon if any one would be free and available to help him flat tow it. Or maybe a tow dolly will be available tomorrow in La Ceiba he could rent. Or a friend with a tow truck is willing to let him borrow the truck for the day. We are thankful that we have before us not one, but multiple options! We ask for prayers tomorrow for Jake and this process of bringing the Exploder home again!
2) Honduran Presidential Election on Nov. 30, 2025. We have never personally experienced the Honduran presidential election, but local and national tensions have been rising over the past few weeks. Inevitably opinions and politics have spilled over into our everyday conversations, and prayers for the nation has been a frequent prayer request over the past month or so. We hear stories of the past elections of riots following the elections. They also are expecting a decrease in patients at least next week if not the whole month of December, especially if they are from out of the area due to inability to travel secondary to riots and road closures etc. We are thankful for where God has brought us, and for the work He has before us here in Honduras! We ask for prayers as the country of Honduras elects their next president on Sunday Nov 30.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Much Love.
